"Friends is coming to an end". I've known this for a while, along with probably everyone else that is living within 6,000 light years from Earth and I just heard it spout from my television on Channel 4...again. Then it made me think(...again); So fucking what?
I'm not American. My life doesn't depend on this materialistic dog shit. I'm prompted to commit suicide just because Aniston and co. aren't going to earn $1 million a week for using the same old jokes week in and week out anymore? The same with Sex And The City. It's probed well into everyone's lives that it's also ended/coming to an end.
Let's put this into perspective. I live in England. I haven't been to America since March, 1999. A lot of people in this country have never been to America, nor do they know any Americans. "F.R.I.E.N.D.S" isn't funny. Sex And The City isn't funny. They're both American sitcoms that aren't funny and I have to be told time and time again that they're finishing. I recall three of the best ever sitcoms ending within the last few years, yet there were no news broadcasts to tell me or anyone else. They were all British.
The Office - arguably the greatest ever sitcom ended after only two series. Fair enough. (I'm) Alan Partridge, that went from our screens a few years ago. Massive fan base. No mention weeks in advance that it was about to end. Peter Kay's Phoenix Nights. Gone. Once again, there wasn't a "stop-what- you're-fucking-doing" and a counseling help-line to help confused bell-ends get their life back together after it vanished from our screens. Not to mention Only Fools And Horses. Granted, this one was put on the news, but it had/has been going for over 20 years and is British. You can guarantee those Yanks wont be forcing it onto everyone in their media. Then again, those daft twats at the BBC have sent them "Coupling" to watch. Coupling is rubbish, I apologise to anyone outside the UK for my country inflicting this on anyone. However, I'm doing the best I can to stop Ralf Little living past his next birthday. Yes, I know he's not in Coupling. Shut up.
